Some of you might have heard of the novel “Carmilla" by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu. It was written aaages ago, before even Dracula, and features a female vamp called Carmilla who preys on a girl called Laura.
But this post isn’t about the book it’s about the Webseries. Yes, the Webseries. It has it’s own tumblr (x) and you can watch the episodes on YouTube (x). It follows a modern day Laura on the hunt for information on the disappearance of her room mate.
This Webseries has pushed it’s way into my heart, the protagonist, Laura, is so adorable, the episodes are short but update regularly (twice a week) and it’s canon queer! I suggest you all go check it out I’m absolutely addicted I watched all 18 episodes one after the other.
So after just reading the novella and watching all 23 episodes that are out right now of the webseries, I’ve got to say this is pretty loosely based on Carmilla. Very, very loosely. Mostly just the names and the lesbian vampire presence with a few nods to the book. But, it’s still fun to watch and semi-lit related, so I’m reblogging anyways.
